Questions
Yes — it’s both easy and safe to place your baby in either of Moova’s baby carrier models, completely on your own.
Moova carriers are among the easiest on the market to use, thanks to the pre-adjusted crossed shoulder straps and the adjustable back panel, which you can simply zip down when placing your baby in the carrier.
It makes everyday life so much easier — because you’ll be taking your baby in and out of the carrier many times throughout the day: when your baby needs a nap, wants to sit independently, or needs to go into a cargo bike or car.
With the new Moova Balance model, we’ve made it even easier with our magnetic hip belt buckle — just click it into place.
When babies protest being in a baby carrier or wrap, it’s usually because they feel too restricted — with too little freedom to move. Their small bodies need to move, sense themselves, and explore with their arms and hands.
Unfortunately, many carriers don’t allow this — but Moova does.
Our adjustable back panel lets you tailor the support precisely to your baby’s development: freedom of movement, and support where it’s needed. That balance is exactly why we still haven’t heard of a single baby who didn’t settle comfortably in a correctly adjusted Moova. If you have a baby who has previously felt uneasy in carriers or wraps, we recommend trying Moova in a store. Sometimes it’s simply about finding the right match — and getting a little help with the adjustment.
Prefer to order online instead? You’re always welcome to purchase directly through our webshop — and we’ll gladly support you with our phone or video guidance service, where we help you adjust your Moova carrier to fit you and your baby perfectly.
And if, unexpectedly, your baby still doesn’t enjoy being carried, you can of course return your Moova carrier in accordance with our return policy.
Yes. Moova is designed to support your baby’s motor development and healthy posture and hip positioning.
During the first months of life, you have two options:
If you find that your newborn has difficulty spreading their legs comfortably, you can let your baby’s feet stay inside the panel, so your baby sits in the recommended “frog position” — a natural, gently folded posture with flexed hips and limited abduction, often highlighted by leading pediatric orthopedists. This position is quite close to your baby’s posture in the womb and can therefore feel like a natural transition into life outside.
Other newborns are perfectly comfortable spreading their legs enough for their lower legs and feet to be placed outside the panel. In that case, the panel width is adjusted so it supports the thighs — from knee pit to knee pit — allowing your baby to sit with their legs outside the carrier. This helps achieve the optimal M-position, where the knees are slightly higher than the bottom, which is important for healthy hip positioning.Moova is also designed to give your baby’s back the support it needs — promoting natural, healthy early postural development, while allowing the arms freedom to move and explore.Moova is also designed to give your baby’s back the support it needs — promoting natural, healthy early postural development, while allowing the arms freedom to move and explore.
In short: Moova supports your baby where support is needed — and gives freedom where it matters most.
Yes, as long as you make sure to adjust the height of the back panel so that it adequately supports your baby's head.
As long as your baby is comfortable — and you feel comfortable too.
There is no fixed time limit for how long you can carry your baby in the carrier. As long as your baby is calm, has a normal temperature, and seems content, you can enjoy the closeness for a long time at a time.
However, it’s important to pay attention to your baby’s signals and change position, take breaks, or take your baby out of the carrier if there are any signs of discomfort. Just like adults, babies also benefit from changing position from time to time.
Listen to your baby — and to your own body. Moova is designed to support you both.
This is a special zipper from the world's largest quality manufacturer, YKK. The type is called auto-lock and contains a mechanism that locks the sliding housing unless the pendant/"pull tab" is pulled. The Moova baby carrier has been tested and certified by an external product testing company to withstand a very large number of dynamic impacts from a 20 kg test dummy.
Yes — absolutely. We know that babies explore the world with their mouth, which is why we have chosen our materials with great care.
All parts of the Moova baby carrier that your baby may come into contact with when sucking or chewing are made from materials supplied by manufacturers who hold an OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Class 1 certification.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is one of the world’s leading textile safety standards, meaning the materials are tested for a wide range of harmful substances. Class 1 is the strictest category and is intended for products made for babies and young children, where close and direct contact with sensitive skin is expected.
This means you can feel confident letting your baby suck, chew, and explore the carrier — without worry.
The Moova baby carriers are designed to grow with your child and support you for several years.
Moova Original can be used from birth (3.5 kg) and up to 20 kg — approximately 3–4 years.
Moova Balance fits from 3.5 kg up to 15 kg — typically until around 3 years of age.
No matter which model you choose, you’ll get a baby carrier that supports your child’s development while giving both of you comfort and freedom of movement — from the very first months and well into the toddler years.
You can carry your baby on your front, on your hip, and on your back.
We have deliberately chosen not to use the forward-facing position for several reasons.
We fundamentally believe that the forward-facing position is the wrong solution to a real problem.
The real problem for many babies in existing baby carrier designs is that they are too confined and do not have enough view of the world when they are in the inward-facing position. And this goes against many children's instincts and drive to experience the world around them.
Our solution is to give your baby enough freedom of movement and view in the optimal inward-facing position.
So far, no baby has objected to sitting in this position in the Moova baby carrier. At the same time, you support your baby's motor development to a much greater extent than in the misunderstood forward-facing position.
Already around 3 months of age, many babies begin to become more curious about the world around them. They start reaching for things and begin to hold their head up without support — which makes the hip position a natural next step.
When your baby is carried on your hip, they can more easily follow what’s going on around you — especially when you’re moving around at home or on the go. And the best part is that you can easily switch between front and hip carrying, depending on what feels best in the moment.
Many babies love the new view — and the close contact with you.
We recommend that you only start using the back carry position when your baby is around 11–12 months old. It’s important that your baby can sit upright without support and has full head control, which most babies typically achieve by around 8 months of age at the latest.
Back carrying becomes especially relevant once your baby starts to feel heavier — but it depends entirely on you and your needs. Many parents tell us that Moova’s crossed, softly padded shoulder straps provide such good support that they can comfortably continue carrying on the front all the way up to 2–3 years of age.
So choose the position that feels right for you.
