You can carry your baby on your front, hip or back. There is no forward-facing position as you won’t need it. In the Moova baby carrier, your baby has ample opportunity to turn towards all the excitement around them, while sitting in the most ergonomically optimal inward-facing position.

Moova Balance is built on radical, but overlooked research: Yes, your warmth and touch are indeed essential, but your baby also wants freedom of movement, already from around 2–3 months. The adjustable panel allows your baby to work with gravity – first holding up the head, then gradually more of the upper body – with arms and hands free to reach and explore. To catch the action around you, your baby will turn the head and upper body. Literally a mobile baby gym. So much better than the misunderstood forward-facing position. A great complement to tummy time.

How can I be sure that my child will like the Moova carrier?
When babies protest being in a baby carrier or wrap, it’s usually because they feel too restricted — with too little freedom to move. Their small bodies need to move, sense themselves, and explore with their arms and hands.
Unfortunately, many carriers don’t allow this — but Moova does.
Our adjustable back panel lets you tailor the support precisely to your baby’s development: freedom of movement, and support where it’s needed. That balance is exactly why we still haven’t heard of a single baby who didn’t settle comfortably in a correctly adjusted Moova.If you have a baby who has previously felt uneasy in carriers or wraps, we recommend trying Moova in a store. Sometimes it’s simply about finding the right match — and getting a little help with the adjustment.

Can my child sleep in the Moova carrier?
Yes, as long as you make sure to adjust the height of the back panel so that it adequately supports your baby's head.
How does the zipper in the back panel work?
This is a special zipper from the world's largest quality manufacturer, YKK. The type is called auto-lock and contains a mechanism that locks the sliding housing unless the pendant/"pull tab" is pulled. The Moova baby carrier has been tested and certified by an external product testing company to withstand a very large number of dynamic impacts from a 20 kg test dummy.
Which carrying positions does the Moova carrier support?
You can carry your baby on your front, on your hip, and on your back.
Many parents choose to carry their baby exclusively in the front position, because Moova offers so much freedom of movement that your baby can turn, follow what is happening around you, and even reach out and quite literally explore the world with their hands.
If you wish, you can also use the hip position. From around 3 months of age, many babies become more curious about their surroundings. They begin reaching for objects and holding their head up without support – making the hip position a natural next step.
When your baby is carried on your hip, they can more easily follow what is happening around you – especially when you are moving around the house or out and about. And the best part is that you can easily switch between front and hip carrying, depending on what suits you best in the moment. Many babies love the new perspective combined with the close physical contact with you.
We recommend starting to use the back carry when your child is around 11–12 months old. It is important that your child can sit upright without support and has full head control, which most children typically achieve by around 8 months of age.
Back carrying becomes particularly relevant when your child begins to feel heavier – but ultimately, it depends entirely on you and your needs. Many parents tell us that Moova’s crossed and softly padded shoulder straps provide such excellent support that they comfortably continue using the front carry up to 2–3 years of age.
